Marty Diamond's Bio
 

Marty Diamond's more than forty years experience spans all sectors of the health care, non-profit organizations and corporate sectors. Our founder has served as a CEO, COO and leader in several pre-eminent medical centers and health care systems. He's recognized for his work as an executive coach, turn-around leader, strategist, and visionary. Marty is especially noted for his work in transformative change and for building outstanding teams.  Physician and clinical leaders appreciate his collaborative style.

Mr. Diamond earned his Masters in Hospital Administration from Columbia University where he was the recipient of the Leopold Shepp Fellowship. He is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives. Marty obtained a certification in Advanced Health Care Negotiation and Conflict Resolution from Harvard University.  Among other leadership posts, he served  six years on the American Hospital Association’s Metropolitan Hospital Governing Council including a term as Chair.

Marty is the recipient of numerous awards for his work and community service. He has mentored numerous individuals in the health care, business and non-profit sectors.  Our founder's health care experience spans the full continuum of care: prevention, ambulatory, acute, rehabilitation, long-term, palliative, and hospice care.  Marty has amassed significant leadership experience in working collaboratively with physicians; more specifically, he has played integral roles in the following practice delivery models: group practice, independant practice associations, medical foundations, faculty practice plans, and, of course with medical boards of hospitals.

Marty is a frequent speaker, lecturer, and author. He is a Senior Fellow and Coach at The Center for the Health Professions at the University of California San Francisco. There he serves as a Coach/Advisor in the California Health Care Foundation's Leadership Fellows Program and as Director of Coaching for the Pharmacy Leadership Institute.

Not-for-profit and private sector governing boards rely on Mr. Diamond for service and counsel. He serves on two committees of The Joint Commission (TJC): Sentinel Event Advisory Committee and Hospital Advisory Council. (The former recommends the National Patient Safety Goals.)

Marty is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal for Healthcare Management, Additionally, he serves on the Advisory Board of Mentoring in Medicine-California, the CHCF Leadership Fellows Program, and Practice Fusion, a start-up company that provide physicians with easy access to an on-line electronic medical record platform.
